What does a “Rouri morning” look like in your world from the moment you wake up to your first cup of coffee?
A “Rouri morning” for me starts with the sunrise - I love waking up with the light and the birds. I usually roll out my mat for some yoga, light some incense, and put on a playlist that sets the tone for the day (Chantress Seba is always on repeat). I’ll cut up some fruit and sit in the sunshine to journal or sketch, just letting whatever wants to come through flow onto the page. It’s such a grounding way to ease into the day. Once I’ve had that quiet time to myself, I’ll brew some loose-leaf herbal tea and properly begin my morning.

If your creativity were a place, what would it look and feel like?
If my creativity was a place, it would be a soft, light-filled space by the sea - white walls, white floorboards, and open windows that let the ocean air and sunlight pour in. It would feel calm and serene, like somewhere you can exhale. It would be filled with natural textures and thoughtful, soulful art - feminine pieces that hold meaning. Being there feels like peace, like coming home to yourself.

If you could give one piece of advice to someone who wants to live with more calm and intention, what would it be?
I’d say start small and keep it simple. Create little rituals in your day that make you slow down - light a candle while you journal or take a walk just to notice what’s around you. It doesn’t have to be big or perfect, it’s more about choosing presence over rushing. I’ve noticed these moments of calm have made such a positive impact on my creativity - as an artist, ideas flow more freely and I feel constantly inspired. Giving yourself stillness isn’t just restful, it opens up space for beauty and inspiration to come in.

What small daily pleasures do you enjoy now that you used to take for granted?
Lately I’ve been noticing how much joy the simplest things in nature bring me - going for walks and really looking at the trees, stopping to smell flowers, or watching the way the light changes through the day. Being around animals too, just their presence and honesty, feels so grounding. These are all things I probably didn’t slow down enough to appreciate before, but now they feel like little daily treasures.

When you travel, what kind of environments spark your inspiration the most, is it stillness, light, architecture, or perhaps scent and sound?
When I travel, I’m most inspired by places with peaceful, positive energy. I recently went to Bali, where one of my favourite moments was having morning tea in a quiet garden café, surrounded by sunshine, animals, and soft music - it felt like pure calm. Scent and sound play a big part too: incense drifting through a market, waves crashing, birdsong at sunrise. Those gentle sensory layers often stay with me and quietly find their way back into my art.

What kind of playlist would be playing in your dream Rouri-inspired coffee shop?
In my dream Rouri-inspired coffee shop, the playlist would feel soft and earthy - think gentle acoustic guitar, mellow jazz, old French songs, maybe some Norah Jones playing in the background. Music that blends into the atmosphere rather than competes with it. The kind of soundtrack that makes you want to slow down, sip your tea, and stay a little longer.

What hidden gems in your city feel the most “Rouri” to you, those places only locals seem to know about?
In Hereford UK there’s a little coastal trail near my home that hardly anyone knows about - it winds through wildflowers and tall grass, with quiet spots to sit and watch the ocean. It feels completely tucked away, like time slows down there. There’s also a tiny book-filled café down a side street that plays old records and serves coffee in handmade ceramics. It’s the kind of place you stumble on once and never forget. Both spots have that calm, grounded feeling that really feels like Rouri.

In which season does your city feel most aligned with the Rouri spirit, and what makes it special?
Spring feels most aligned with the Rouri spirit where I live, when the air is filled with the scent of blooming flowers and soft sunshine, that mirrors Rouri’s white linen pieces - airy dresses, delicate layers, and that effortless feeling of ease. It’s a season that invites you to slow down, breathe deeply, and embrace natural beauty in every moment.
